FORT WORTH, Texas - In support of the Lower Neches Valley Authority Fort Worth District, the Corps of Engineers will release 2,000 to 2,800 cubic feet per second from Sam Rayburn Reservoir while the LNVA paints two gates on their salt water barrier. The releases are made to prevent salt water encroachment as far upstream as the water supply intakes for the city of Beaumont and provide fresh water for municipal, industrial and agricultural uses. FORT WORTH, Texas - The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has completed its analysis of route alternatives proposed by the Oncor Electric Delivery Company to cross the Ray Roberts Lake/Lewisville Lake Greenbelt Corridor, a 20-mile multi-use trail system located between Ray Roberts Lake and Lewisville Lake, for the purpose of constructing the Krum West – Anna 345 kV CREZ Transmission Line.Read more of CESWF-PA-10-41...

FORT WORTH, Texas - U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Fort Worth District officials met recently with local cities and water utilities to discuss the Corps' plan to improve safety at Lewisville Dam. The dam is not in imminent danger of failing, but Corps officials will be implementing interim risk reduction measures, which are temporary solutions, while pursuing two long term studies. FORT WORTH, Texas - With the opening of the 2010-11 hunting season on Sept. 1, the Corps of Engineers reminds hunters to follow safe hunting procedures while at Whitney and Aquilla Lakes. The Corps administers a free public hunting program covering just over 14,000 acres at Whitney Lake and 4,000 acres at Aquilla Lake. FORT WORTH, Texas - Permits to use all terrain vehicles in the Clear Springs and Big Creek Wildlife Management Areas at Wright Patman Lake will be available again this year. Permits will be sold starting September 18, at 9 a.m. at Clear Springs Park Gatehouse.
