The Fort Worth District of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is the steward of the lands and waters at 25 water resource projects in Texas. These projects provide flood control, water supply, recreational opportunities and hydropower to the surrounding communities. The Corps' Natural Resource and Recreation management mission is to manage and conserve our natural resources, consistent with the ecosystem management principles, while providing quality outdoor recreation experiences to serve the needs of present and future generations.
The purpose of the Natural Resources and Recreation section is to serve the Nation, the Corps, and the Army. Our mission is to seek and maintain sustainable balance between environmental stewardship and compliance, recreational opportunities, and flood damage reduction. As part of the number one federal provider of outdoor recreation, the Natural Resources and Recreation section is focused on supporting our water resource projects in planning and executing the recreation and environmental stewardship mission, providing quality recreational experiences for the public while protecting and enhancing our natural resources.
